Privacy Policy
Strong Vocal (“Strong Vocal”, “we”, “us”) helps you practice speaking and receive AI-generated coaching feedback. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, web app, and mobile apps (together, the “Service”).
Because the Service records your voice, we treat your recordings and the transcripts and feedback derived from them as sensitive personal information and handle them accordingly.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your email address and a password (passwords are stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider, never in plain text).
- Profile information: an optional display name.
- Voice recordings: the audio you record during a practice session.
- Support communications: messages you send us.
Information generated by your use of the Service
- Transcripts of your recordings, produced by automated speech-to-text.
- Feedback and scores generated by our AI analysis (e.g. clarity, pace, structure, energy, confidence), along with summaries and suggested focus areas.
- Practice activity such as session history and streaks.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device data: product analytics events, app version, device and operating-system type, and similar diagnostic information.
- Error and performance data: crash reports and logs that help us fix problems.
- Push notification tokens: if you enable notifications on a mobile device.
How we use your information
- Provide the core Service: store your recordings, transcribe them, and generate feedback.
- Maintain your account, history, and streaks, and send you the notifications you enable.
- Operate, secure, debug, and improve the Service.
- Communicate with you about your account and respond to support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your voice recordings or transcripts to train our own or any third party’s general-purpose AI models.
How your recordings are processed
When you complete a practice session:
- Your audio is uploaded to private, access-controlled storage tied to your account.
- The audio is sent to our speech-to-text provider (Deepgram) to produce a transcript.
- The transcript is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate your feedback and scores.
- The resulting transcript, feedback, and scores are saved to your account.
These providers process your content only to perform these functions on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
Service providers
We share data with vendors who help us run the Service, including:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage for your account, recordings, transcripts, and feedback.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Deepgram — speech-to-text transcription of your recordings.
- Anthropic — AI analysis of your transcripts to generate feedback.
- Inngest — background processing of analysis jobs.
- Resend — transactional email (e.g. confirmation and password reset).
- Expo — delivery of mobile push notifications.
- PostHog — product analytics; Sentry — error monitoring.
Data retention
We keep your account data, recordings, transcripts, and feedback while your account is active so you can review your progress. When you delete a recording or your account, we delete the associated audio and remove your personal data from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations.
Your rights and choices
- Access and review your recordings, transcripts, and feedback in the app.
- Correct your profile information.
- Delete individual recordings, or request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Turn push notifications on or off in your device settings.

Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls that restrict each account’s data to that account, private storage for recordings, and server-side handling of sensitive keys. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and continually improve our safeguards.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International data transfers
We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service.
